We serve up delicious dishes full of seasonal flavour and a variety of drinks including local cask ales, and all of your bottled favourites. So come along, make yourself at home, and let Claire and her team look after you.
We booked a table for 19:15 but arrived about half an hour early and it wasn't an issue. We were greeted by a lovely smiling waitress called Millie who showed us to our table and took a drinks order from us. Let me just say that everything was amazing, to be honest! All the staff were happy, everyone's three course meal was beautiful, the grill items were perfectly cooked (and I like my steak rare/blue). I love a nice Guinness and that was a beautiful pint. The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed, everything seemed to run like a well oiled machine, oh and there was a fantastic gentleman on the team too, and he was so happy (everyone was) and we had some great banter. One of the party lives in Weston Super Mare and all but one live in Devon, so we will most definitely be returning for our meet ups! This was a special night for us and you guys made it all the more enjoyable. Thank you ♥️
Just come home from a really fabulous evening at the Hobbs Boat. There were 15 of us which included children and some vegans. All food arrived hot and was really lovely. I had the salmon which was delicious. The staff were absolutely lovely, especially Michael who was so funny. Was a very reasonable price as well. Will definitely be going back.
In a word 'GREAT' I know everyone compares venues on there previous experience, and I am no exception. But what a surprise, we'd given it a miss for quite a while after being previously dissatisfied. But no complaints this time. Food was nicely presented and well cooked. Service was just at the right level of attentiveness and friendliness, a big thank you to Catherine for that, well done. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. What more could you ask. Keep up the good work
Our server Catherine was very attentive. Good value for the festive menu, served hot and in a timely manner. Not visited for about 12 months but the restaurant is handy to meet friends so we thought we would try again. Had issues in the past with waiting time and the food being mediocre but pleasantly surprised by the improvements. Expanded gluten free options too. Well done team.
Decent Food, But Lacking in Service I recently visited The Hobbs boat in Weston-super-Mare and had an overall mixed experience. While the food was decent and flavourful, there were certain aspects that left me feeling disappointed. To begin with, the atmosphere of the place didn't quite meet my expectations. It seemed like a rather chaotic setup, with what appeared to be the landlord and an elderly gentleman multitasking on the restaurant floor. This gave the impression of a lack of organization and professionalism. During my visit on a Tuesday evening, we were seated near the bar. Unfortunately, it took around 10 minutes for our drinks to be brought over to us, which was a bit frustrating. What puzzled me even more was that other patrons received their drinks before us, even though we were seated right next to the bar. This inconsistency in service left me feeling a little perplexed. Based on this experience, I can only imagine that things might worsen on a busier night. It is concerning to think that both the food and service could decline under such circumstances, and that's why I cannot give it a higher rating. Overall, The Hobbs boat has potential with its tasty food, but improvements are needed in terms of service and attentiveness. It's an okay option if you're in the area, but keep in mind that the experience might not be as smooth as you'd hope for.
