But what sets us apart?
Our Heritage. Hall and Woodhouse is one of the few remaining regional family brewers, brewing our award-winning Badger beers in Dorset and offering warm hospitality at our pubs for over 230 years.
Our Food. We use regional food partners, typically from family businesses like us, who provide us with quality ingredients that our team of talented chefs (not microwave technicians!) use to create fresh, unpretentious, seasonal dishes.
Our Hospitality. We employ nice people who think like us and enjoy the same things that we do; food & drink, and, perhaps more importantly take real pleasure in looking after people and making them happy.

Lovely pub. Dog friendly. Consistently good atmosphere. Always friendly staff. Live music on Fridays, which is great for locals. Food is pretty good, albeit a bit pricey. Didnt rate the roast dinner - sorry!
Hadn't been for maybe 8 years. It was quite full. We'd booked a table as recommended. Short wait for table to be cleared. Really polite and friendly bar man and waiters. Ordered 2 full beef roasts, 1 fish & chips and 1 small beef roast. Reasonable waiting time. Came hot and looked lovely but beef on 2 full roasts was undercooked and couldn't cut though it at all, let alone chew it. Waitress was very apologetic and didn't hesitate on changing for chicken instead. Both dinners came out hot within 10 minutes and were very enjoyable. Peas where over cooked and dry on fish and chips but otherwise all was tasty and enjoyable. We will go back but definitely won't have beef again. Overall a very nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal and catch up with family or friends.
Such a lovely pub and the staff are amazing. Stopped off for a quick drink on route to see family over the Christmas break. We wish we could have had some food as the dishes that came out of the kitchen looked great. We had our little pooch with us and it’s such a dog friendly pub. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
We came down on holiday and thought it looked nice from the outside so went in for food sadly it was quiz night the quiz started after we ordered food, it was really loud so we couldn't have a conversation, the girl that served us was not helpful she got the drinks wrong and generally looked like she didn't want to serve us, she also forgot to take the 33% off the bill, the fish wasn't cod but it was some sustainable fish my mum didn't like it we had the burger that was ok and the pie was ok to the dessert wasn't very nice we left it we had the banoffee cheesecake, the menu was very limited I am sorry to say we won't return.
Amazing food! I ordered the plant burger which was really nice and the fries were so yummy! Everyone else who ordered loved their food and finished it all! The puddings sounded great but the mains filled us up! Really big space, we needed a quiet table and were able to book one that was quiet! Definitely would go again
