We had an excellent Boxing Day dinner at Ancrum Cross Keys. I started with the carrot, parsnip, and ginger soup, followed by the Butternut Squash and Sage Risotto—both were delicious. Others in the party enjoyed dishes like Turkey with chestnut, thyme, and cranberry stuffing, served with roast potatoes, veggies, and rich turkey gravy. Also, an 8oz Sirloin with chips, roasted tomato, mushrooms, onion rings, and peppercorn sauce, along with a Lamb and Root Veg Casserole with creamy mash and a rosemary and sea salt scone. The restaurant is dog-friendly, offers plenty of gluten-free options, has a wonderful staff, and serves generous portions. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!
What an amazing venue. Superb food. The staff & locals are especially friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend you visit and not just visit but treat yourself to a superb meal. Thanks so much from your Welsh visitors.
Came across it randomly on Google as was listed Dog Friendly, absolutely amazing food and all so fresh and seasoned perfectly and home made too, and the staff were great, other dogs and owners so friendly and hopefully when we are back in the area will be there again, if only we didn't live 90 minutes away ☹️
We had a lovely visit to the Cross Keys to celebrate my partners birthday. The food was fantastic and service impeccable. Thank you so much.
Little did I know such a perfect gem existed in the borders. Award winning and local beer flows fresh from the taps like the ambrosia of the gods themselves. The food is that ideal combination of pub goodness and local produce that produces a little bit of magic on your plate. Needless to say the food and drink is complimented by the friendly, competent and knowledgeable staff. I can't recommend the Ancrum Cross Keys enough...
