The historic Smithfield building, in the heart of the Northern Quarter, was once home to the iconic Victorian Department store Affleck & Brown. This upmarket establishment was referred to as the “Harrods of the North” at the turn of the century. The doors of the luxury department store closed after a turbulent period for the area that saw Market Street and Deansgate become Manchester’s main retail hubs. Decades on, Affleck & Brown is now open as a contemporary bar displaying the style and flare previously embodied by the store.

We pride ourselves on serving some of the best drinks in Manchester. We've got signature cocktails including the ever-popular Rhubarb Spritz for Gin lovers, and El Diablo #2 for Tequila aficionados. Craft beers? Check. A large selection on tap? Yes. What about an abundance of wines - red, white and rose? Of course - we've even got a nice choice of sparkling. Affleck & Brown will turn a night out into a night to remember.
