Staff very helpful and hotel food etc was good for the price. The entertainment was mixed. One entertainer was excellent. Swimming pool needed cleaning and only 1 pool cue between 2 tables.

Friendly hotel, rooms lovely and clean with coffee/ tea making facilities. Down side is the floors are very creaky and the walls are thin, hence snoring from next room is audible, food is adequate but disappointing, particularly breakfast ( luke warm ) . I have stayed in almost all the Daishs hotels so was disappointed with this one.

Visited this hotel for the second time. It was noted this time that the general interior is in need of some attention. The orangery on the rear of the hotel did leave a lot to be desired. Cleanliness was not. Spiders' webs around the light fittings had been there for some time and didn't give a good impression. The rooms were clean and tidy, and so was the dining room and general ereas. Unfortunately, like all hotels, a lot of people visiting do not particularly care about looking after the place.

Stayed at the Abbey Lawn for 5 days on a "Tinsel and Turkey Break" arriving by Daish's Coach on the 14th November '23. The Hotel was well decorated with Christmas Trees and other festive decorations. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and functional e.g. Beds and Shower over Bath. Some furniture looked distressed, the floorboards creaked (could be a problem for the room below) and the Bathroom extractor Fan was noisy and choked with fluff (easily remedied by a swipe from a towel). Heated Indoor swimming pool was acceptable, but the area surrounding the pool was very slippy when wet. There were a few anti-slip mats, but not really enough. Bar was okay; pricey as expected. Can't comment on the entertainment, as I hate Bingo and don't like to be too close to loud music. The Breakfasts were okay, but Toast varied from warm sliced bread to burnt offerings. Ordering for the forthcoming Breakfast and Evening meal was by means of a photocopy tick box chitty thing. Nice idea I thought, maybe that increases efficiency and reduces waste. I was wrong. You have to ask the Waiter about the "Soup of the Day" and make further inquiries if you have special dietary needs. More importantly, the Kitchen still ran out of our preferred meal !. The Turkey meal was very disappointing. A couple of thinly sliced pieces of Turkey with Gravy. Mushy Sprouts and Carrots probably of frozen origin. Stuffing had a curious taste. Pig in blanket and some very hard Potatoes. A Supermarket Festive Sandwich had more Turkey than the meal above. Another disappointing main course was the white Fish in parsley sauce. The Chef really had gone out of his way to make this look bland. Served with a big dollop of Mash and Peas. My partner tried their Fish Pie which was lacking any signs of FISH. Best main was the Beef Lasagne on our first night. Quality and portion sizes went down hill from then on. The Hotel has potential. The Kitchen needs someone to take charge. Would I go again ?. NO. Especially combined with the debacle on the return Coach.

Just booked a few days break through "daishes travel" The staff were extremely helpful, and the meals were good. The staff who served us the meals "breakfast!" and "evening meals were very efficient👍so did not have to wait too long to be served. The staff who cleaned our room were very efficient👍😀nothing was too much trouble. Would definately book this hotel again.
