Your quintessential country pub
With its oak beams, low ceilings and open fireplaces, the Inn on the Pond is truly the quintessential country pub. Built in 1650, it’s a place to savour real ales, great food - and the sublime summer sound of leather on willow from the village cricket ground outside.
Looking for somewhere new to eat. Found this pub and was delighted. Can't fault it in any way. Food was fabulous. Wine was my favourite brand too. Will definitely re visit.
The pub offered a pleasant ambience, but our Sunday visit proved crowded. The highlight was the excellent dirty fries and well-paired beers. However, the BBQ chicken arrived undercooked ( they cooked it properly after our request) and a disappointing wait of 1.5 hours preceded the news that the lemon and thyme roast chicken, our main choice, was unavailable.
Fantastic little pub with lots of walking or cycling routes nearby. Stayed overnight in our motorhome on the level car park with 4 other vans. Food and service was excellent and very reasonably priced. Definitely on our list to return to in the future
Spent £48 in total for two people and was really disappointed, food was same as you would find in a cheap burger joint and took half an hour to come. Asked for triple cooked chips and wasn’t given them but still charged! Pub was empty at 7pm on a Friday night and service was still slow. Really sad as it was meant to be a date night and has spoiled the whole experience. If you’re going to charge £16 for a burger it has to include cheese and at least be better than a burger van.
