About us

The New Cross House has been a staple of the South-East London community for literally hundreds of years. So many years in fact, that the area itself was named after the pub. Also known as Goldsmiths Tavern, it has played host to many well-known bands, comedians, DJs and artists.

What a delightful discovery. Beautifully, decorated inside and atmospheric. The Drinks, cocktails, and food were brilliant, only topped by the service we received from Dylan. Definitely returning soon.

Went here as the pub from outside looked decent, tried ordering pizza but had no pizza dough left, then asked for a Cheese and bacon or katsu curry burger but also had no burgers, so was left with the BBQ chicken which cost £17, it was one small piece of chicken with burger cheese microwaved on top, the side of chips was 10 chips as shown in photo and onion rings were cold and definitely re heated.

This place is right in the middle of New Cross and New Cross gate stations and has plenty of seating including indoors, outdoors and a cute extra building! They offer pizza which we didn’t try but loved the decor, the pride flag painting and the decent prices! A great place for a cute drink and catchup ✨

If you're passing through SE London and want a drink or a bite then defo drop by here. Second visit in the past couple of months. Great staff and grab a booth if you can. If you can't don't worry. We shared the camembert with garlic sharing starter which was great. The veggie burger was good and the desserts (sticky toffee and a warm chocolate brownie) were solid. By solid I mean the in a good strong way and not consistency! Loved it.

Being one of our local pubs we thought to give it a go. Lovely interiors, open and bright vibe. The food was good no fuss and what you would expect from your local pub. Revisted for Sunday lunch, same sort of food quality and great vibe. Very interesting and quirky interiors with something in for everyone. One of the great things is that the pub is dog friendly and has loads of activities going on throughout the week accompanied with special menu items. Definitely worth a visit if In the area.
