Chi Onwurah, MP for Newcastle upon Tyne Central, met up with Stuart Mills, founder of national pub & bar platform Useyourlocal, to kick off support for the government’s Eat Out to Help Out initiative.

Meeting for lunch at The City Tavern in central Newcastle, Chi said, “It’s great to be able to support local pubs and to see one of our own local businesses lending critical support to this national initiative. I would encourage anyone go to useyourlocal.com to find local pubs & bars where they can enjoy up to £10 off their meal on any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday in August. Pubs & bars are often central to the social fabric  of our communities and Newcastle has some fantastic ones! I would encourage everyone who can to support these community assets.

Stuart Mills added, “We are delighted to be supporting over 10,000 pubs & bars across the country at this crucial moment after their reopening earlier in the month. We want to do everything we can to make it as easy as possible for people to find pubs & bars taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, and to get as many people as possible returning safely to their favourite watering holes.”
