Our story began in 1828 with our founder, retired cotton manufacturer, John Lees. We’re based in Middleton in the North West of Manchester and own JW Lees Brewery, JW Lees Pubs, The Alderley Edge Hotel, The Trearddur Bay Hotel and Willoughby’s Wine Merchants. We’re a seventh-generation family business which employs over 1,525 people, 150 at the brewery and site in Middleton Junction and over 1,375 in our 48 Managed Pubs, Inns and Hotels. We also let a further 100 pubs to our Pub Partners. We have pubs in Manchester closeby to our Greengate Brewery, stretching all the way to North Wales.
From drinks with friends to family holidays, our pubs are full of life and laughter. But let’s not forget about our famous beers and lagers that are brewed here at Greengate, the very heart of JW Lees….
landlady was horrible towards us for no reason tried to say we were underage got our id out n she refused to even look at it and just kicked us out for no reason at all and made a scene in front of everyone in the pub. won’t be going again and it was my first ever time going to this pub
Great place to have a pint and brilliant quiz night on a Tuesday night
Went to The Cotton Tree last night to see Garth Brookes Country Singer tribute act, who was amazing!!! Really fantastic night.. never been in this pub before. From when we stepped out of our taxi on our arrival we were made to feel so welcome by the lovely Landlady and her regulars throughout the evening.. Me and my husband will definitely be visiting again...Thank You again for a brilliant night 😘😘😘😘
Amazing community pub well managed always a friendly welcome from staff. It's clean and good value for money. Tuesday night quiz. Free pool Wednesday darts and pool.
Beautiful, traditional pub ran by a fantastic landlord and landlady. Bar staff are excellent and it's just a really friendly pub. They are following all the Covid rules, unlike some places and have a small beer garden for the good weather.
