We are a traditional and cosy family pub, serving delicious, home-cooked food of hearty portions.
We offer a variety of cask ales, beers, wines, spirits & seasonal cocktails. With three comfortable areas for dining (booking recommended), a variety of seating available in our bar area for drinks, plus a limited food menu in our award-winning beer garden where dogs are also welcome, we’re sure you will find the perfect setting for any occasion.
Situated to the side/rear of the building is a large, secure car park for customer use. We are on a busy bus route and close to the nearby train station, ensuring any customer can get to us. We are disability-friendly and have suitable wheelchair access through the rear gate and beer garden.

Absolutely delicious lamb shank went large and loved it, really big serving. Went for Sunday lunch 3 adults and sat in back room with no other guests so no real atmosphere from other dinners.
The 2 of us were heading to the airport from Wakefield and randomly chose the pub to eat at. The service was prompt, atmosphere comfortable, and the food delicious; we both had Lamb shank. I would certainly drive out, to eat here again.
Just got back from the hare and hounds. 4 of us and 2 children, we can not say anything negative about the place, food is always excellent, drinks are good and not to pricey. The staff are lovely and the young girl that brought our food was very perlite and smiling 😃 all that is what makes a good pub, see you soon 😊 keep up the good work 👏
Had a lovely meal here with friends. I had the Steak & ale pie, my Husband had the gammon. Both meals were good honest food! Went down very well. The service was very friendly. Definitely would visit again when we are up there
Possibly the best roast I've had in my life. Every component was magical and a delight to the senses. The lamb leg was gr8. Service quick on a Sunday, classic suburban pub vibes
