Was nice and lively when we arrived (around 9.30 on a Friday night), but the service was quick and friendly. Prices were good and there is a couple of parking spots. Large toilets for both ladies and gents, and a pool table in its area to the back of the pub.

Known Andy & Michelle for many years and are really nice to know. It’s been a pleasure to supply our equipment to for many years.

Fantastic local with good pool tables and the recent introduction of a tennis table! Can't wait to finish work and get in there for a refreshing pint of lager. See ya soon Pondy.

The Windmill is one of only a handful of pubs left in the city that are actually, last I heard, is owned by the landlord. Due to extraordinary high rental prices, I don't know why more pubs aren't owned by private tenants, aka the landlord or landlady. Being as this is now my main local, alongside a couple of other pubs in the area, one of those I am not welcome in because I apparently sing too loud, the other being a bit too far to walk for a quick drink. And after losing three other pubs (White Cottage, Crawshay Arms and James I) in the area to make way for housing, another (Edward VII) is apparently going to be a mosque. Which leaves me with the Windmill. I find this pub very welcoming. I went to school with the landlady and a number of its regulars are old schoolmates. I enjoy (though recently through ill health not being able to do so) coming in for a drink and a read of a book. Most weeknights this is possible, though on Friday and Saturday evenings the pub is usually quite full, with a full range of music available on the jukebox and the banter gets interesting, and those who know the local pool scene will know that the Windmill has a very successful team. On this particular night, my first in a few months, I had a Crabbies Ginger Beer, which along with ice is a refreshing drink whether it be winter or summer.
