About us

Thanks to a recent refurbishment we now have much more space and a variety of areas for both dining & drinking.

Alongside our list of fine wines, a well-stocked bar and an array of lagers, you'll find our hugely popular range of hand-pulled real ales. A favourite amongst both visitors and regulars alike, our range changes frequently, though some are permanent fixtures, including Theakston's Best Bitter brewed in Masham, North Yorkshire.

Seasonally changing, locally sourced menus capture the true taste of Yorkshire dining. Relax with nachos, nibbles and sharers in our informal Bar area or treat yourselves to our full culinary delights. Modern British dishes along with a fine selection of globally inspired meals, something for everyone!.

Wasn't too busy when arrived and the starter came out ok but main which was Sunday lunch took a long time to come out 40 minutes after starter. Can not understand why so long as the meat would of been cooked and and the vegetables would of been cooked also. By time it came I was over it but did eat it,roast potatoes were burnt and left burnt taste in mouth. I would not rush back. On a positive note dogs are allowed

First time visiting today to have a meal with my wife and 1 year old and the food was great, the customer service was spot on and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Will definitely be returning.

Awful experience, had a table booked for 5pm, arrived at 4:50 and was shown to our table, dark and dingy room with old fashioned furniture and mis matched decor, placed our drinks order, then proceeded to sit for 40 minutes with screaming children around with no service, we walked up to the bar to settle the drinks bill to be told “there is only one manager taking all the food orders”. Didn’t get offered any discount or an apology for our wait. Very disappointing!

Delicious Sunday lunch in this quaint pub in the picturesque village of Calverley. However, the venue must be held to account for the eye-watering smell emanating from the gents' toilets. Sort this out and it would be 5-star all the way.
