A wonderful Georgian pub in the middle of a picturesque Nottinghamshire village. We have recently changed our chef. Serving prime Orkney steak in Rump, Sirloin and Ribeye cuts with generous portions of hand-cut twice fried chips, home-made onion rings and all starting at 2 for £17.00!
All our food is locally sourced and we are proud to use independent retailers for all of our produce. Come and join us on a Wednesday night for our fish and chip special, two large portions of haddock in a light and crispy beer batter for £11.00!

Only called in for beer. It was very well kept . Great to see Ed the barman who has moved here from the Beck. He's a great bloke who knows his cellar work and is very, very Customer focused. A lovely log fire and other staff were friendly too. Didn't have any food so can't comment on it, but if the food is as good as the beer then you won't be disappointed.
A nice local pub with cosy atmosphere and a real fire. Service was knowledgable attentive. Food good quality and delicious. Will be back
My daughter and I called in here with my elderly disabled mum after a visit to Newark hospital around 4.30pm. What a lovely, friendly landlady. Nothing was too much trouble to accommodate my mum, even doing her a certain sandwich that they finished serving at 3pm. It restores my faith in humanity. This lady deserves all the custom she gets and more. We wish her all the very best and will definitely return. The food was great too and would highly recommend 👌
Visited this pub with some family last week. The food was absolutely wonderful. The staff were friendly and it had a great atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again. Good prices too!
Not visited for years . Food was very well presented & cooked . A big bonus with this pub is that it is dog friendly . A very friendly landlord & staff . Highly recommend & will return . 👍
