Traditional, city centre pub.
A former bank with a collection of relevant pictures decorating the walls. it has a bare-boards floor, wood furniture and a series of alcoves with tables in the tradition of older Scottish city pubs. Two or three ales usually on. Food is served until 7pm. Live music is performed on most Friday and Saturday nights, with details notified via their Facebook page.

We stopped in for dinner after a long day on the coastal trails. The beef pie (not sure of the actual name) was exactly what I needed after the cold wet winds. Also interesting group of people.
Most overpriced and horrible food I have seen in a long time. Fish was more batter than fish and looked like it had been reheated after being left out for a week. Burger was tiny and chips looked like the ones you find when cleaning out the oven. Lemon looked like it had been taken out of Tue bin a few days before. Very disappointed. Would have asked for a refund or another meal if we had had time. Server was great though, very nice, not her fault the kitchen served up such slop.
Very nice place. Great atmosphere, polite personnel and great food! It was also a quiet place...not noisy as other bars in the area.
Went to watch the rugby, because I was supporting South Africa I was thrown out for cheering for my COUNTRY in the final of the world cup. New Zealand supporters could cheer and it was fine. RACIST PLACE to say the least. NOT GOOD FOR WATCHING LIVE SPORTS, unless you sat silent and don't say a word, or support the team the "staff" support.
Visited with three friends for food and drinks. Always a friendly welcome from the bar staff. Ordered our drinks then ordered our food. Two macaroni cheese, baked potato and tuna mayo. steak pie. Food served was freshly made hot and very tasty. A great afternoon visit, great atmosphere here, will be returning. Worth a visit for food / drinks, Recommend here :) :)
