Offering live music treats and late night weekends, we are still one of the best nights out you could hope to have.
The Royal is a fine example of a traditional Georgian house. Set in Sutton Coldfield town centre, this handsome and imposing building has managed to retain some of its finest traditional features, whilst offering many modern comforts.
Established in 2004, we have been open for over a decade. Most recently we have undergone a re-invention. The Royal has been designed with an eclectic townhouse scheme to attract a daytime offer whilst maintaining the existing busy evening weekenders. A more relaxed contemporary scheme has been carried through the venue bringing the Front Room back into the spotlight to the recently ‘Royal’ Sutton crowd. which has seen us change not only the décor, but our overall offering. We aim to be a family friendly establishment, offering scrumptious homemade food and also a great night out, with live music and fun for all the family. Whatever you are after, we hope to meet your needs.
The walled garden features roofed booths made using reclaimed scaffolding boards and perfect to book out for a get-together. There is loads to look at in the garden with planted walls, new lighting and flexible seating to cater for any size groups.

Visited on a Friday night. Only went to the Night Club. Open till about 2am. Early on club was empty. Later on, after* 11/11:30
Brilliant stay, had a room for the 3 of us and was a lovely big room with big en suite! Beds were really comfy and the hotel is very central in Sutton Coldfield so very good location to get around.
Not very impressed at all. My shower only had cold water, only suggestion was an alternative room that was closed off due to a strong smell of cigarettes. Very noisy due to location on a main road, tried to close the windows and one slammed down on my thumb and finger giving me black nails - there's a warning that the windows are heavy but it can't be seen due to the blinds being down! Bath damaged and bathroom shabby, lampshade missing. Got woken up at 6.45 by staff activity and then at 7am by the windows being cleaned from the street - I needed a lay-in but I'm now up hours before I needed to be
We attended the Sutton Food Fest which was hosted at the Townhouse recently. Great food, good set up and liked the fact it was a secure. We came with our child so liked that it was fenced up surrounding the busy streets. Food of the day was Kool Kata Indian Street Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My friend and I visited this weekend. Both fab nights! Saturday, we were brought drinks by some guys who insisted that we have. Feeling unsure, we returned the drinks to the bar with our concern. Without further discussion, Kieron tested our drinks and then further replaced them. The door staff also made us feel reassured about the incident. I wanted to say a massive thankyou to Cat, Kieron, Levi and the three J's. Outstanding service. All assets to the team at the Townhouse 👌🏽😌
