Welcome to the Crown Hotel in Hawes.

We are a traditional Yorkshire Dales country pub, with two newly-redecorated and refitted en-suite guest rooms available. We have a full restaurant, the focus being on providing honest, delicious pub fayre, that means home-made food using locally-sourced fresh ingredients.

We have three restaurant areas, all with real coal fires and free broadband WiFi access.

We are dedicated to the quality of our beers, lagers and ciders. As a CAMRA member, your landlord is proud to have the "Cask Marque" accreditation for the quality of the cask beers.

We have five cask ales always available, namely: - Theakson's Best Bitter, Theakson's Old Peculier, Theakston's Lightfoot, Theakston's XB, John Smith's Best Bitter. We also have a guest cask available, along with John Smith's Extra Smooth (a keg ale) and draught Guinness. We have excellent lagers on draught as follows: - Foster's, Heineken, Kronenbourg 1664. For cider drinkers, we have Bulmer's Strongbow and Symond's Founders Reserve.

Our prices per pint are very reasonable, ranging from 2.70 (John Smith's Best Bitter Cask), to 3.70 (Theakston's Old Peculier Cask).

Along with the thirteen draught products and soft drinks, we have six bottled ales, six bottled lagers and seven bottled ciders, along with sixty spirits, liqueurs, single-malts and bourbons.

We are family-friendly and dog-friendly.

Staff excellent. Nothing too much trouble & the way my wife was looked after for her birthday was above & beyond. Please go see. Great staff. Great beer & great food. Can't comment on the rooms as we haven't stayed. We will be calling again next time we visit Hawes.

They have Old Peculiar on tap and a great Yorkshire pudding! Highly recommend stopping by after a hike through the dales. The front patio is the most obvious seating choice but there is a beer garden out back that is away from the noise and bustle of the main road.

Visited for Sunday Roast. Unfortunately was near end of service and chicken and beef had sold out, however everyone enjoyed the pork. Generous portions and nice traditional pub atmosphere. Only slight negative is food was over salty.

Really impressed. Friendly, welcoming staff in a cosy, rustic dining area. Good selection of wines and soft drinks. Food was delicious. We went for dinner and got a table, no problem. We had yummy fish and chips and a particularly tasty chicken ceasar salad. Will definitely return if we're visiting here this part of Yorkshire again.

A lovely old stone-built inn located in the busy marketplace. I stopped off here for lunch on my way to the Wensleydale Creamery. There are outside tables in front of the pub and a beer garden at the back, but I ate my meal in the cosy and rustic bar lounge with its traditional wooden furniture, and historic quotations and old photographs on the walls. The bar staff were hospitable and friendly, and although the restaurant area was busy, I did not have to wait long to be served. Good choice of Yorkshire ales, and they also do cocktails. There was a nice selection of homemade pub meals on the lunch menu including burgers, sandwiches, wraps and a couple of mains. Opted for the chicken fajita with peppers, onions and a spicy sauce, served with tasty dressed salad, tortilla chips, sour cream and guacamole. Very flavoursome indeed, and the portions were generous. The blackberry and lemonade made a refreshing accompaniment to the spicy food. Overall a really enjoyable meal and not expensive either. Would recommend.
