Really slow service, took over 20 minutes to get given menus and 40 for food to come out. Granted it was initially busy when we got there, but our server spent most of the time joking and laughing with the bar staff. Waited another 20 minutes after being given pudding menus and no one came to take our order so we paid and left as it had gotten so late. Most of our party were happy with their food, I had the roast pork loin and the pork was over cooked, the roast potatoes hard and not crispy, and the whole dish was under seasoned and bland.
Out for a family dinner tonight. Service was excellent, food was spot on and really enjoyed my wine. Have not been for a while as felt the quality had dropped for both but can honestly say it’s back to its best. Well done!
Went for burns night dinner last night and really enjoyed the whole evening! The food was served so well and I tried haggis for the first time which I want to go again for tonight! The venison was so good we thoroughly enjoyed it all. Lottie, Kath and Will looked after us brilliantly 👏🏻
Table for 2 at 12pm on the 13th January... Quickly seated and served in a beautiful old beamed pub. The Korean starter was excellent and my main Korean dish with rice was also extremely good. I tried my wife's steak pie which I admit I would have preferred as it was delicious. Service was excellent and both ladies were very chatty and attentive. Highly recommend this place a very short distance from the A6.
This is my favourite pub/restaurant in the Leicester area! The food is always amazing and was a reasonable price. For starters, we ordered the garlic sharing loaf, which was a weekly special. For main course, we ordered the “Korean Chicken Duo”, “British Chicken and Ham Hock Pie” and the “Smothered Chicken”. Also came here for Sunday roast once and it was the best I’ve ever had! Our server, Lottie, was great. Will definitely come again!
