Had a lovely Sunday lunch. There were loads of different kinds of veggies and potatoes. The portions were really big and we couldn't finish it all. Pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere with great music, and the staff are very friendly. We have also tried their fish and chips and bangers and mash previously huge portions and very tasty.
Party of twelve went for breakfast on Saturday morning. Service and food was excellent, good home made, local produce, and large breakfast was huge, and great value, wit sandwiches and toast made from proper thick cut bread. Well recommend.
Called in today, 26th October, with our two dogs. We had been in one Sunday and liked this pub. Back in Louth, looking for table in antique centre. Only wanted a snack as dinner waiting at home. We decided on a steak, onion and mushroom baguette with chips and salad. We asked for baguette to be cut in two as we were going to share. It came out, beautifully presented, on two separate plates with very generous portions. Absolutely delicious. Wood burner alight, very cosy with a nice ambience. A shame this pub is not nearer to us in Lincoln.
The Swanne is a very nice traditional pub on Eastgate in the market town of Louth. Its an historic place and lays claim of possibly being the oldest public house in Louth (1612).It's quite small inside with some originality and cosy atmosphere. Serves a good selection of real ales, beers, wines and spirits. I found the atmosphere pleasant and the staff friendly. They serve a good selection of bar meals. There's a large modern and comfortable beer garden at the rear. The wheelchair access and facilities are reasonable however space is a little limited in some areas inside. Credit cards are accepted here and they have a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 food hygiene rating. Food review September 2023. The menu has a mixture of traditional and modern here, the burgers seem popular with the locals. I opted for the homemade Steak and ale Pie with mashed potatoes and garden peas and a pint of larger. The pie was very nice with a good crust and a deep filling with plenty of tender steak in a rich sauce.👌 I paid £11.95 for my meal.
Lovely old pub only popped in for a drink sat out the back which was a lovely. Staff was very welcoming. Didn't have food but lots of people was. So seemed popular
