Ye Olde Saracen’s Head is a carefully crafted pub situated just outside the picturesque village of Balsall Common. Steeped in real community spirit and English charm, we’re really excited to be on the local map.
We have worked hard to create a pub exactly as we think it should be – and (even if we say it ourselves), we’re pretty chuffed with how it’s turned out. Ye Olde Saracen’s Head has an extensive bar and is full of snugs and cosy corners, perfect for reunions with friends and family.
Ye Olde Saracen’s Head is a beautiful 16th Century building which we have done our utmost to lovingly renovate, making features of some of its character and charm – whilst also looking at new design ideas which complement the old.
The Village of Balsall Common itself seemingly grew up around the early 1900’s – many a weary traveler has been fed & watered at our pub over the years.
We hope that our fresh, quality food, and carefully chosen wines and ales will help us to continue to do this for years to come.

Visited with my 89 year old mum in Law for Sunday dinner and we were not disappointed. On arrival we had a lovely welcome and taken to our table . Our waitress was extremely friendly and the service was excellent. The Roast dinner was absolutely delicious . Looking forward to visiting again and will be recommending you to friends and family .
Went for a Christmas meal, pre booked. When we arrived we were shown to the table promptly. We had to ask for drinks after sitting down for about 30 mins, then the food arrived about another 30 mins later. Food was nice, veg was very nice, turkey a bit dry, one of the meals was sent back because it was too cold. Dessert arrived promptly after, Christmas pudding was really salty, the staff kindly exchanged them. Overall it was ok, and I have heard good things, but service was slower than expected but good and accommodating, the food ok.
The taste of the food was outstanding. Would have been five Star rated if the service was a bit quick, We have spent 3+ hours in spite of sending orders a few days before, and felt having lunch for a WHOLE DAY. Appreciate the guy who served us. Recommended to have Wood fired Pizza 🪵 Lamb koftas were top notch. And special notes while taking orders on Steaks - pls expect the customer to customise the toppings and cooking conditions i.e half or full cooked
Came for our 12 year anniversary we don't get out much having 2 young children and we are so glad we chose to come here! Food was the best food we have had for a long time! Everything was perfect no faults at all. Food came so fast. Service was great lady serving us was friendly and kept checking back Great experience will definitely come back.
Outstanding customer service, nice friendly atmosphere, food presentation 8/10 , taste of product 8/10 , value for money 8/10 . This restaurant / Bar is Wazzie approved must try. Well done to the team keep up the good work.
