The food was awful. I ordered the pie with chips and veg and gravy. The pie was like a brick to cut into and also dry and little filling. The person serving spoke to the chef and was told well they are frozen pies. I changed my meal to what my son had Sausage and Mash. Both of us could bounce our knives off the potato which was a square piece of mash with sausages on top. The peas and gravy were edible. Sausages were also ok. The bar person serving the meals was very nice and handled it very nicely. I was told by her that the manager would phone me later but I did not get a call. Apparently the chef has not been there long but is likely to ruin the reputation. I have given three stars only because the bar service was good.
Nice pub with plenty of tables on two floors. Food good and liked the small sharers. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend
Food was not good at all. Had to send back most of the food for not cooking it properly. Staff were very good. Asked if we would like something else in return. Shame because it is a nice enough place. Wouldn't recommend food. Drinks. Yes.
This is a large Yates which is very clean and comfortable. I ate twice and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Specials each day starting at £7.99 incl a drink. Staff were very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone.
We visited on a Friday afternoon and had a great time. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming. We took advantage of the cocktail deals which I think were two for one. Anyway when we visited the drink prices were very reasonable. The bar has two levels with the top level having excellent views of the sea, the north pier and the promenade. They have a kitchen which supplies all the pub classics like burgers and fish and chips. The price looked reasonable but I haven't tried the food.
