The Newcastle Gay Scene's longest owned and operated safe LGBT space for the North East Gay Community
The Yard is the longest running Gay Bar on the Newcastle Gay Scene. The bar opened in the early 80's for the LGBT community by the current owner and operator, with a total overhaul in in 2000.
Open daily with a number of events and entertainment.
Visted here last night with my sister, wow what a night the entertainment from the drag queen (Stacey) she was fantastic kept put night full of laughs and weight loss on Mt face with all the laughing, haven't laughed like that in a very long time, and what a dancer, in a nut shell brill place and will deffo return whenever I'm back in Newcastle, thank you Stacey for keeping us entertained and the piccie with you :) xx
One of my favourite bars for 30yrs but they really need to sort the toilets out as I was mortified
I was down from London for a meeting on Thursday & Friday unfortunately, boils on the Thursday I wish I’d gone straight to Bar had a great evening Friday evening. Big thanks to Andy, the manager and his team and to Stacy Rhett the hostess with the most this keeping everybody entertained the music was fantastic. I’ll be back again another time I will tell everybody who goes to Newcastle. They must go to this bar first. Once again, thank you, Andy for a great night, dave from London.
We hired the upstairs area - Oscars bar and lounge for our Wedding Celebration Party. Andy, Danny and the team were fantastic and so accommodating. They really were super! Danni Delonco - Drag Queen Extraordinaire did a fabulous job as host DJ and also did a comedy sketch for us. My now Husband and I could not have been happier with many of the guests proclaiming that it had 'been the best wedding party they had ever been to' Thanks so much guys for making our day so special. I would highly recccommend the venue to anyone considering a marriage 🍾 celebration with a difference. Lots of love Richard and Mariusz xx
Loved this bar. It had such a cool vibe and the drinks were reasonably priced too. We’ll definitely be back!
