Stayed on a business trip - rooms were clean and spacious, the bed was reasonably comfortable. The pub itself was lovely and the food was great - all homemade and high quality. Good selection of drinks and very friendly staff. It is in a good location and I would definitely stay again.

We had a nice meal but... Just be warned that their idea of a gluten free dish was just to remove something without any substitute. So, gluten free soup is soup and NO bread roll at all. A gluten free turkey dinner means NO sausage. I'm sorry but that's not fair. It shows a lack of imagination. These days there are many GF alternatives. So it is just mean not to offer something else. I do appreciate dietary restrictions must be a chef's nightmare but the alternative is a guarded review. :-(

We came here for a special birthday meal with friends and children. One burger came out with a mosquito in the egg, one plate came with a hair mangled in the coleslaw, one burger came with bread so soggy it fell apart and finally a bowl of mussels that were so dry they tasted like gone off seaweed. When the mosquito burger came back out, it was the SAME burger just with a new egg on top!!! When discussed with management, he couldn’t care less and basically said it was ok for the chicken burger to come back out with a new egg. We knew it was just a new egg as they had told us, that was the last chicken burger. Following our complaint we were then ignored and basically left until we asked for the bill to which point we had to argue about not paying for the infected meals! Disgraceful. Do not go here. Wish we had taken pictures of the vile food.

Good be so much better. Nice spacious rooms spoiled by very dangerous shower (exposed hot pipes male it easy to get a burn) and a poor quality bed. Rooms are not sound proof. The breakfast was extremely disappointing. Cereals were all high carb high sugar, food was overcooked, no bread selection (sorry we have not had a delivery was the excuse. The coffee was undrinkable and the person in attendance was not bothered . Probably the worst English breakfast experience I have ever had. I had to go to Cosata at the nearby Tesco to get a coffee! Its a shame because its in a great location, the accommodation block is well built and the pub seems very popular. It would not take much for this to get 5 star reviews

Lovely b&b, brilliant that it's attached to a pub that's serves lovely food, only gripe is with the room, the room was initially cold found out a window was open and couldn't close it. Other than brilliant host, lovely facilities. Thank you for a lovely stay.
