The Woolpack, in the heart of historic Banstead, is a community local that can trace its roots back to the 18th century. In the 21st century it remains a traditional village pub where you are guaranteed a warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere.
A surprisingly good pub , fantastic food, a great selection of unusual foods on the menu which I didn't manage to try them all but I will definitely come back. Our waitress was Liv and she was remarkable too. It was busy even on a Monday evening. By far the best best pub / restaurant iv been to in a long time. Well priced as well. Definitely well worth a visit.
What a brilliant night, big thank-you to all the hardworking staff who ensured all their guests had a great evening. Lovely food beautifully presented, attentive staff, great band and disco. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Woolpack for a great night out. Happy New Year.
Had a fantastic meal at The Woolpack. The food was delicious, original and seasoned beautifully. I had the Mizo aubergine starter and the Halibut for my main. My husband had the whitebait for starter at the Henry 8th burger. We were greeted by Georgia who was bubbly, welcoming and great at her job. She made us feel very welcome giving us our table and letting us know what the specials were and giving us her recommendations. She was prompt at serving and seating everyone and at the same time did a great job tidying up all the empty glasses. Unfortunately she fell whilst being busy and cut herself on broken glass and a number of customers were concerned as to how she was. She came out to reassure us that she was ok and to apologise for the mishap! Absolutely lovely girl, asset to the Woolpack. Hope she heals up quickly.
The pub is very spacious and also has a massive outdoor seating area with plenty of places to sit. I've been in there a couple of times, usually for a drink or two while my wife gets her haircut down the road. However, this time we decided to have dinner there, unfortunately all the dishes we fancied were out of stock, no burgers, no chicken salads and more so we decided to get some starters to snack and share. I can't fault the food, it was all cooked nicely and what we got was enough between us but massive let down on the mains and so early into the evening. Which I suppose is a good sign? But order more food for your stock in future! Not overly priced but expect maybe a little bit more for my money. It appeared there was only one hardworking lady running around, taking orders, bringing out food and cleaning up. Yet, behind the bar was plenty of her colleagues standing around a lot. So seemed unfair but this made us wait to order, get a drink, pay for the bill etc... Hence the rather middle ground rating, along with the lack of options for food. Would go back but either order food earlier next time or just go somewhere and try something new.
Quite busy , seated in main bar. Food very good quality.. loaded chips is a must. I had the beef and ale pie. It was near perfection the pastry crusty and crisp lots of meat in the filling, good selection of veg and chips. Partner had the sea food risotto. She loved it x all in all good service and not to pricey. Recommend
