Welcome

The Woodbridge is situated on the banks of the River Severn, a mile downstream from Ironbridge in Shropshire, and is named after the wooden bridge that once connected the pub to the village of Coalport on the opposite bank. The pub was built at the same time as the bridge, in around 1785.

There are lots of interesting corners and nooks to squirrel away in, or more open, buzzy areas if you're in a more gregarious mood. We have a substantial raised deck at first floor level to provide an outside drinking and eating area overlooking the river, and a sunny garden room which also looks out over the river with further dining space.

We have around 80 parking spaces at the pub, but if the sun is out and you're struggling to find a parking spot, there is a public car park a short walk from the pub: click here for a map to it.

My first time at The Woodbridge Inn was a fantastic experience. The staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was warm and vibrant. My friends and I were looked after by the lovely Katie. She made us feel very welcome and attended to all our needs. The food was delivered promptly and tasted absolutely delicious. The menu offered a variety of tasty dishes, all very reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning in the future. Many thanks 😊

Perfect setting by the river. Great service and wonderful food at reasonable prices. One of the few places where I find the steak is cooked exactly as requested (always blue for me) Good selection of gluten free options.

Stunning old building next to a roaring river. Food was magnificent and the service fabulous. They had fires going inside. It's pup friendly which I absolutely love.

***Wow*** Been visiting the Woodbridge Inn for sometime now but never got round to giving them a review. Called in at lunchtime today, the building was warm and toasty for this cold autumn day. The atmosphere here is excellent, everyone is happy and having a good time. The staff are hip, fresh and current, they’re very friendly and helpful and made my stay a pleasure. The food is simply first class, I was going to take a photo of my meal but it looked so good that I couldn’t wait to eat it. The tastes are amazing and the food had been cooked to perfection. Onto the location…… You could not wish for a better location to admire the beauty of the surroundings, from the river Severn Bankside positioning to the historic bridge which gives access over the river and to the car park. It’s simply beautiful! Ten stars……..

Really nice pub, and scenery. Lovely staff and really good drinks. I didn’t have the food but it looked great. There was plenty of outdoor seating and great views over the river. I would definitely come back for the food another time.
