About us

The Woodberry Inn (formerly The Woodberry Down) was built in the 1920’s as a gentleman’s residence for Mr Southwell, the owner of the former Bridgnorth carpet factory on the River Severn.

The Woodberry Inn is owned by two local families; Chris and Wendy Yates and Keith and Jenny Alderson. The venue has been handsomely remodelled throughout, with oak flooring and leather seating whilst retaining the original features and charm of the building, becoming a much-loved asset to Bridgnorth.

Our ethos is to serve a ‘Farm to Fork Menu’, as our beef is reared at Keith Alderson’s Morville farm which is supplied through a local butchery business to the restaurant.

We offer locally sourced seasonal produce and real ales served in stylish surroundings. This unique gastro pub also features 8 individually styled En-Suite Rooms for its guests, along with on-site parking and free Wi-Fi throughout the building. This makes The Woodberry Inn a perfect location for those looking to seek out something new or while away an afternoon in the sumptuous surroundings.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Woodberry Inn. Please note that we do welcome dogs in all of our outdoor areas only.

food was terrible, the lasagne was reheated twice and still cold in the middle, the award winning ribeye steak was mediocre at best. staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Nice surroundings but apart from that very disappointed seem to want to charge for a level of service that they are incapable of providing and in fact they are actually very bad but they think that they are doing a great job lovely looking room's but sub standard beds making it impossible for a good night's sleep! (Main expectation of any hotel bed) Way over priced Breakfast 1 sausage 1bacon 1 small button mushroom 1 over cooked egg black pudding and burnt toast just under £10 This is definitely a place to avoid at all cost

Went for Sunday lunch. Met by friendly staff who immediately showed the two of us to our table. We were then left to wait for ages before anyone returned. Eventually we ordered drinks. After 10 minutes we asked about our drinks to be informed that they won’t be long. Finally arrived!! We just opted for the Sunday roast option, which was delivered without too much delay. Plenty of meat and veg however the food was not very warm at all and by the time we had finished it was cold. We were in there for about 1 hour 10 minutes and the background music was the same song on repeat; no attention to detail! We had not been there for a while and it will be a long time before we consider going back, with better options in and around Bridgnorth

Great restaurant and food. Stayed here for the first time and the room was lovely, staff were friendly but a bit fast in explaining the room and getting in and out the building but we managed fine.

Very poor. The menu tells a good story about local butcher and produce. It's either rubbish or the chef can't cook. Very, very low quality meat, not roasted but pot roast to keep moist, chewy and poorly cooked. The veg was at best steamed out of a catering pack. Carrots overcooked, green beans barely blanched. Roast potatoes cold and at best Aunt Bessie's. Yorkshire was forgotten. Luckily didn't have to pay for mine. Won't be going back. Avoid if I were you. Much better places to eat in Bridgnorth, even spoons....
