Being back in the UK for a month itโ€™s just nice to be staying in a traditional English pub. Service was great, friendly atmosphere & the room was comfortable. I would stay here again ๐Ÿ‘

This old pub is owned by Hall and Woodhouse, but it has retained its character while serving good beer and lovely food. The bar staff were friendly and the food was excellent. There's a lovely real fire in the bar. Our bedroom was comfortable and warm.

The best pulled pork burger ever! Also the chunky chips was nice and crisp on the outside and beautifully soft and fluffy inside. My partner had a seafood platter. She said it was some of the best fish she's had in ages. I highly recommend this place.

Came here for dinner after staying at a local B&B and was left very disappointed. Waited at the bar for 10 minutes to tell them we were here for our reservation, nobody seemed to pay attention so sat ourselves down at what we assumed to be our table. Waited another 30 minutes for our orders to be taken after we had to go and get the menu ourselves. Then proceeded to wait nearly 90 minutes for cold ribs but didn't send them back as I couldn't bare waiting any longer. Yes we were told there was a bit of a wait for food but over an hour was defiantly not expected. Table was booked for 7 and we weren't eating until gone 9pm. Overpriced for below average food. Apparently the steak was nice though.

Stopped on the way back to isle of Wight from the west country, what a find! The room & facilities were great, service excellent - the staff were friendly & welcoming and the food amazing ( you have to try the ribs!). All in all a great experience, would heartily recommend if you are in that part of the country.
