The village community has joined together to get the pub back on the map as a place to relax & enjoy good company. As yet, no food but it is hopefully on the cards. Quiz night was hilarious and doggies had free reign - a brilliant, friendly atmosphere in quaint, old English pub ambiance. Call in and support our village heritage, you'll find a warm welcome.

Good little country pub. Cash only so you youngsters beware, 😂 they do very good sandwiches, and the beers are great.

Closed Mondays at least -- more often? Permanently? It's impossible to tell. There are no hours posted on the door, no hours listed online, no website for the pub. They couldn't even be bothered to put a "closed" sign in the window. In the brief time we were there today, two other cars showed up and left after finding it closed. King's Head, it takes 5 minutes to add your hours of operation to your Google listing, and you're losing lots of business because your customers don't know when they can find you open. Please post your hours and I'll delete this review.

One of the reviewers said 'drive on' This is completely not the case now. The landlord's wife had suddenly and unexpectedly died during the time of the first review and the village were pitching in to help. Kenton has turned a previously 'shackled' enterprise pub into the Freehold and traditional and authentic pub which is now thriving and successful. If you are looking for good, authentic, local, award winning beers in a comfortable log fired setting this is your pub. There are dog treats for those walkers who call - to the point where all the dogs in the village strain on their leads to visit! There are cosy, intimate corners and a small library of books for sale for charity. There are fortnightly quizzes and regular darts matches. This is what a pub used to be like. There aren't many of them left. Enjoy.

DRIVE ON! AVOID AT ALL COSTS Locals and regulars only it seems at this pub. Chronically understaffed the highly strung landlord was flitting back and forth in a panic between the kitchen and the bar. Happy to sell us drinks but ignored the fact that we had come to eat and did not take our order. After a few minutes I managed to pin him down and discovered it would be best part of AN HOUR before he would be able to take our food order. He had two food bookings one would be there in half an hour and he wouldn't be able to take our order before they arrived! Well that's handy because he's taken the money for our drinks now. A thoroughly unpleasant experience with an overstretched, jittery, incompetent landlord who only has any interest in grabbing your cash & looking after his regulars in his creepy over-smarmy fashion. Don't know why he bothers to advertise they do food outside because he's not interested in serving more then 2 tables every hour-and-a-half. No prizes for guessing I will never be going back to this dive until its under new management.
