It's nice enough. Comfortable bed. Little under staffed. In need of some freshing up. Staff were polite and helpful.

I have the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. With a broken tv, what looks a damp/mould stain on the bathroom floor 2 feet in diamter and the thinnest pillows know to man. All I get is a shrug at reception and if wasn't stuck here on training I would go elsewhere! Go to another hotel several of the other people on training are having similar issues

Very cosy farmhouse hotel near Swindon. Good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, nice size bathroom. It was comfy enough for 1 night.

Don't stay here! Stayed on a business trip for two nights and really bemused how bad it is. It's as if it's under new ownership during their first week and they're still trying to figure out how to run a hotel. The first room I was given only had a bath without a shower or shower attachment. This might be ok for some people, but at least ask your guest during check-in if it's suitable for them or not. Unfortunately not for someone with long hair. It was also roasting in the room (no air con but there was a fan). I went to reception to ask for a different room. We’ll get to the apricot bathroom suite in in a minute! This room had no fan, so I went back to reception and she found me one. Then I couldn't find a hairdryer, back to reception but she didn’t believe me so came to my room to double check I wasn't making it up and then told me all the rooms have hairdryers wired in. Clearly not this one. I asked if she could find one, but the language barrier was quite a struggle as unfortunately she really can't understand what you're staying. She said I could borrow the key for the room opposite and use it to dry my hair and then return the key later on! Bizarre. I asked her to talk to her colleagues to see if she could find a hairdryer but she was very reluctant, however she came back a few minutes later with one. Whilst using the bathroom I noticed a puddle of water behind the toilet. There was no towel bath mat either. I reported the leak, and on arrival back the second evening could see it had been gunged up with sealant but was still puddling underneath – this time mixed with the white sealant. The bathroom suite is one of those "lovely" apricot 1980s ones. Doesn't look like very much has been done to it in 40 years! It is very dated, as is the bedroom, although the walls have had a lick of paint and the wallpaper isn't too bad. Tea making facilities are minimal but there was no teaspoon. The carpet is old, as is the curtain and the net curtain (ripped along the sides), the windows are in desperate need of replacing. The sash wouldn't stay up unless opened very wide, which is a security issue as the window is right onto the car park and easily accessible, so I felt very unsafe having it open overnight - anyone could climb in. The bed is solid as a rock, but I prefer a firm mattress so can't complain about that. Actually the bed and the breakfast staff are the only two positives I can find. The whole place is in dire need of renovation. There's clearly been no investment here in years. These are not random unfortunate issues, these are ongoing major issues they don’t have the time or money to correct. The photos on their website are very misleading. None of the 4 rooms myself and my colleagues had are anything like the photos. My colleague's toilet wouldn't flush. He asked about it, but it still wasn't working the second evening. Another colleague didn’t have any hot water on the second morning. Breakfast was £10, unfortunately our company hadn't included it in the booking so we were asked to pay for it. We were told it was very good by the manager, but it's just basic cereal, toast and the usual hot buffet. Ok, but no frills and not worth £10. I noticed a small sign when we checked out that said it was £10.95 if booked in advance or £12.95 on the day. They’re really trying to squeeze some money out of you! The waitress at breakfast however was very polite and helpful. The other staff in the bar/dining areas seemed on the ball and upbeat too. It's just the manager and young lady on reception who seem very out of place, particularly the lady who in a people-facing position lacks good English, confidence and a personality that's needed for a receptionist. I've stayed in hotels with one or two things wrong in the past, but this place really is bizarre. We heard other people asking to make complaints at breakfast too so it wasn't just us.

We have just had a celebration of life event at the Marsh Farm Hotel. Great service from Gillian - thank you. We opted for the afternoon tea and was delighted with the selection of sandwiches, cakes and warm scones with jam and cream. The room was well prepared and we had ample tea, coffee and still/sparkling water. Thank you once again for making our event so successful.
