The Carpenters arms is a very nice pub. It's reasonably clean and spacious and warm inside. The service was really good and the food was really good too and very tasty. They have nice lights up in the garden and it's good that they are dog friendly.
Been here twice recently both times the food was good but there was a very long wait. Took over an hour both times and nearly 1.5 hours on one occasion! Dog friendly and they do great dog food. Just long wait times
We have been for dinner and breakfast a number of times and I would certainly recommend it. The food is lovely, with good sized portions and the staff are all lovely.
I didn’t stay at the hotel. We had a large party for lunch and made a mistake with our booking. We booked at a different Carpenters Arms by mistake, with a similar surname and the same size group. When we showed up 1.5 hours before the expected booking, the pub made us welcome. The food took a little while, which was when we realised our mistake. Of course it did! They weren’t expecting us. For me, great service isn’t just about doing it right when things are going smoothly. Solving problems is just as important and the Carpenters did this with aplomb. Anyway, the food was great, simple home cooked food at a reasonable price. Real ale on tap and a warm welcome. Strongly recommend and would return. Oh yeah and someone drove to the pub in a steam engine!
Stayed here for a couple of nights and ate at the pub once. Excellent throughout. The room was spacious and had everything you’d need - kettle, bath, even a ceiling fan which was nice! Really comfortable bed and clean room. I had a neighbour but could not hear them at all; the rooms are single story and attached but no sound came through the wall. The service was excellent, I arrived when the pub was closed but there was a number to call which was answered promptly, and directed me quickly to my room. Eating at the pub revealed a nice atmosphere and incredibly kind and attentive staff members. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend staying here.
