This used to be a fabulous pub and so friendly. On two occasions in the last 18 months that we’ve been we’ve found the landlord exceptionally rude. Such a shame
We were booked for 2.30 but this got lost in translation between some of us and we turned up just before 1.30. The pub was busy but they managed to swap a few things around and had us all seated just after 1.30 and ready to take our drinks and food order. The food was a lovely traditional roast with all the trimmings and lovely puds to finish off. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. It is a little way from home but we would definitely recommend and hope to return. Thank you :)
Updating my review from earlier this year (below) as it doesn’t seem that I can add a new one. Just had an amazing Sunday Lunch, Beef for me Chicken for her, served with all the accompaniments (and a cheeky extra portion of Cauliflower Cheese) and all washed down with a lovely bottle of red wine. Great service from Amy and Dave, the latter was busy putting up the decorations for what I am sure will be a busy festive period. Lots of lucky folks will be in for a great Christmas celebration over the next few weeks. ————————————————————————- Perfect pub as our local, whether it is just a quick pint at the bar or a delicious meal. Beer is well conditioned (Timmy Taylor on tap) and we have not had a bad meal from the current menu, be it lunch or dinner. The highlight though has to be the staff, the friendliest team you can ever imagine. Lucky to have them in the village.
This pub has been through a few people's hands over the last few years but I have to say, based in our experience, this iteration is definitely the most enjoyable. We popped in for a late lunch on a Tuesday and were really pleased with the food, service and tweaked décor. Everything was freshly prepared and it showed. The chicken supreme with chorizo risotto and crispy kale that I had was brilliant. We'd stopped going out to the Sun for a while, but the improvement is noticeable - great food, friendly service and nice surroundings mean we will be going back again soon.
Came for mothers day lunch with my mum and nan, we are very happy with the food, surroundings and especially the service. Big and very delicious portions for a fair price. Waitresses were very attentive and extremely sweet. The place just just itself is cute and cosy. Thank you for having us :)
