Captivating views make it an ideal spot for summer drinks, but our lunch experience fell short. The decor seemed worn, lacking cleanliness. Overall, the potential for a great experience was overshadowed by subpar food and ambiance.

It’s okay, the pods have seen better days. The roast looks amazing but was very tasteless. The veg is mixed up in a bowl and all slushy. Because the food is on wooden boards you can’t go overboard with the gravy. Generally quite expensive for what you get and to top it off it’s a card only place. I will continue to support local businesses who need the cash.

Beautiful location with stunning views of Wiltshire. There are pods you can dine in outside with heaters if it gets chilly. We went here for Sunday lunch. The staff were waiting for us at the door and greeted us by our names. I was really touched by that. The staff were very professional and attentive. The food was very good. I really liked that they served it all on a wooden board so you could help yourself. There is a good sized carpark and it’s dog friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and visiting beautiful Lacock.

Outstanding. This was our fourth trip to The Rising Sun. We love it and today we enjoyed the family lunch of dreams! Such friendly service, delicious food, a magnificent view in a country setting and great attention to detail, allowing our severely allergic family members to enjoy a relaxed dining experience. The children ate very well and enjoyed the play area so much that they didn’t want to leave. Looking forward to booking another meal soon. Thank you to the team for a great afternoon.

A Lackluster Experience at Rising Sun Restaurant in Lacock My recent dining experience at the Rising Sun Restaurant in Lacock unfortunately fell short of expectations. Despite a promising start with a clean and inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, the culinary offerings failed to match the impressive views and left much to be desired. To begin on a positive note, the Rising Sun Restaurant boasted a clean and well-facilitated environment. The staff, although a bit stressed, greeted us warmly and allowed us to choose our seating on the charming garden terrace. The views from there were truly spectacular, and the menu appeared enticing, leading us to have high hopes for the meal ahead. Regrettably, the food at Rising Sun Restaurant did not live up to the breathtaking views. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, including a prawn salad that lacked flavour, pork belly bites that arrived lukewarm, an asparagus and goat cheese dish that was passable, a Thai curry with next to no sauce and oversized tasteless broccoli florets dominating the plate, and an incredibly bland chicken burger that was surprisingly lacking in seasoning or any discernible flavor. Our dissatisfaction with the meal reached a point where we left most of our food uneaten and opted to cook our own meal at home instead. This decision speaks volumes about the overall disappointment we experienced with the taste, quality, and execution of the dishes we ordered. In conclusion, my experience at the Rising Sun Restaurant in Lacock was far from satisfying. Despite the initial positive impression created by the clean ambiance and friendly staff, the lackluster and flavorless food ultimately overshadowed these factors. It is my hope that the restaurant takes note of these shortcomings and makes necessary improvements, the small refinements to the food to match the great sounding menu would easily elevate the dining experience and ensure that future patrons can enjoy both the stunning views and the culinary delights they anticipate.
