Situated just outside the historic town of Wimborne, The Willett Arms is a lovely pub, bar, and restaurant that is renowned for serving up a delicious range of tempting dishes as well as a great selection of real ales, wines and lagers, all day long.
Had a pre-Xmas Sunday get together and the venue and staff were absolutely awesome - would have scored them a 5 but the veg was too sparse on all the roasts (albeit they did bring us more when asked) and what should have been the absolute bomb of a dessert didn’t quite hit the mark as the sauce to melt the rock hard chocolate case hadn’t been heated up. Will definitely return - it’s a fab venue, with fab staff and food 👍👍
Lovely, cozy pub with friendly staff and a roaring fire. Sadly the food did not live up to its price-tag (or even close). I ordered the approx £30 rib-eye steak, which the menu recommends to have cooked medium. I asked for it medium-rare, knowing I'd rather it a little under medium than any over. Unfortunately it came medium-well, and regardless was a flavourless piece of beef anyway. Certainly not what I'd expect of a 30-day aged ribeye at £30! The chips were dry and flavourless, too. Perhaps their regular chef was off and they had a stand-in as there are some other positive food reviews here. I'm not leaving 1 or 2 stars as, to be fair to them, I returned the plate after two bites and they listened to my complaint and refunded without argument. I appreciate that and will put it down to one of those things. Nice environment and friendly staff, so I may be tempted to give it another try. 3/5.
The food is always lovely when we visit but cold. The staff are friendly and it's a relaxed atmosphere. Dogs are allowed in the bar area which is great. Make the food warmer. Waited an hour before meals arrived. We had a reserved area as there was a large number of us but when we arrived there were no tables set up. They expected us to eat off coffee tables that were so low it would have been impossible to eat
Always good food at the willett, easy parking and a great choice of drinks. Have found service a bit slow most of the time but the food makes for this..
Delicious food in lovely surroundings.Came with a group of friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything. We shared a camembert and a pizzette then steak pies, chicken burger and hake - all delicious. Too stuffed for dessert!! Ollie was our waiter and was friendly and efficient- overall a great evening thank you Willett Arms (&Ollie)
