We've organised Great North Air Ambulance fundraising pub quizzes at the Cat for around 6 months now. They're a brilliant team, very accommodating and generous towards us, and the prices for food/drink are a great deal.
Great pub, the staff are relaxed and friendly and they were prepared and willing to make me my lunch, although I arrived at only 11:30am. there is a variety of choice for food and drink, and it is reasonably priced for what you get. I have to say that I was impressed and I will definitely be returning in the future.
The staff were lovely welcoming and friendly. They were relaxed considering we had 4 children with us. The atmosphere was nice not to loud but not quiet the food was really nice I don’t usually like a roast dinner out but I really enjoyed it as did my partner. Ladies toilets were lovely and clean although my partner said the men’s was nice at all. Overall I enjoyed mt experience and will return.
Disgusting service. Ordered food. Waited an hour checked to see where it was and was told our food hadn't even been started yet with no explanation. We were the only ones in eating and only ordered light meals. staff weren't even bothered. One of our party was diabetic and the staff didn't seem to care that we had waited around for an hour for nothing. Would not recommend to anyone. Go over the road. Much nicer with better staff.
Today was the Cat Catering Company for a roast lamb dinner but before anything else the excessive mint sauce was my addition not a vegetable included. So, this was really nice and tasty and if you like your two veg as well as your meat this is the place for you. There were mulit-vegetables in abundance and none were boring or filling an eat-good position on the plate. The likes of mashed swede and carrot which was sought-after tasty not boring, two or three whole white cabbage leaves which had flavour, broccoli likewise which can be boring and tedious, cauliflower cheese, roasters, mash, some French type beans and the rest is history in my digestive system. A really nice Yorkshire and lamb which was generously bestowed - all in all a really decent roast to get your chops into with plenty of interesting variation and not a stray whisker in sight. Whatever these Cats do they do it in tasty style. Claws up, Cats!
