Overall the food was decent, but there were a few things to tweak that would've made our Boxing Day meal much better. The notes on the booking clearly hadn't been read as we needed a highchair and kids menu, plus we'd booked the extra special menu at £15pp extra but that wasnt acknowledged until I pointed it out. The food overall was tasty but the adult and kids turkey were served without the pigs in blankets, then we were served 4 burned sausages. A deposit of £50 had already been paid at time of booking but was not deducted from the bill, and no apology was offered when this was pointed out. This is a very nice place obviously trying to be at the higher end, but to do so they need to perform as such.
The service was exceptionally slow and we had to call for the team several times to get served and food service times were also slow. The food itself tasted great but albeit on the pricier side. The pub is well decorated and modern. I would be hesitant to visit here again.
Went in as a walk in as it was dog friendly. There were two big tables in ahead of us, so the service was unacceptably slow. However they recognised this and gave a discount off the bill. The food was delicious, and despite the whole experience will try there again.
The food is very nice, but some further attention to detail is needed. We paid a lot for a steak that was overcooked and not rested enough before being plated. The mushroom starter lacked refinement and imagination. The bearnaise was a little lumpy. I am nitpicking really, as all in all it was very well presented and tasty. The price matches the food and service. Service staff were polite, attentive and non intrusive, whilst checking in a few times to make sure everything is OK. It was nice to see it is child and baby friendly. The toilets could have done with a little more attention, but it was a very busy afternoon. All in all I would recommend it.
Very good food, from a good choice menu, though not overwhelming 👌 Great customer service. Good decor in a large spacious open plan.
