Rarely open, and when they are, it's never to their advertised hours. They don't do food to non-residents. Insult to injury, they decide to take two months off during Xmas & Hogmanay. Because being rarely open is such hard work. Strathyre & its very vocal locals deserve better.
We had an overnight stay and everything was brilliant the detail that is put into the touches are fab mark and audrey are great hosts and food was beautiful (especially the garlic prawns never tasted anything like them) the rooms are comfy very pet friendly couldnt fault a thing will definately stay again many thanks
We had a wonderful last minute stay! The owners perfectly anticipated our unannounced arrival by seeing us to a table for supper. Whilst the rushed to clean a last minute canceled room. Therefor a definite 5/5 for hospitality and service. The same goes for the good breakfast included the next morning. Nothing really special but just perfect for a good start of the day. The rooms were perfect as well. The bathroom includes a bath and all the necessary items were present. Only good thoughts on the Inn, the stay and there hosts! Definitely recommended
We were at the end of a cycle tour of Scotland and arrived at the Stag Inn after a big day of riding. We loved having dinner arranged for us at the pub downstairs. Audrey and Mark were so welcoming and helpful, even giving us a place to securely store our bicycles. It was great to leave after a wonderful breakfast with a pack lunch for our next day of riding - we didn't come across that amenity often. Room was quite and comfortable and we would love to stay again.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Real ale and craft beer offerings on tap and in the fridge. Lovely rooms with good hot and cold breakfast options. Great pub food on offer in the evenings - booking requited. Looking forward to our next visit and the opening of the micro brewery.
