We came here a couple years ago and the pies were made fresh daily and the service was great. Yesterday I had one of the worst meals I have had in a restaurant in many years. The food was all just reheated and old. The soups were sent back because they were cold. The pies must have been old as you couldn’t even cut through it with a knife. The steaks were hard to chew. We basically left all the food as it was inedible. Such a pity to see it drop so much in quality. We were looking forward to coming back here but we will have to pass going forward.
The hotel was absolutely lovely, the staff are really warm and welcoming. The people in the next room however kept making a lot of noise through the night (not the white lions fault I know) but the constant noise stopped us from sleeping well. Will be staying again though.
Although I'm local it was my first ever visit. My Chiropodist recommended it to me this week. We're both real ale fans and he said the beers are well kept. Well my pint of Proper Job was proof .....it went down so well. I'll be back.
Not as good as it used to be. Needs an upgrade. White wine was served from an ice barrel not a fridge subsequently it was not chilled enough as the ice had melted. Good range of beers but not in great condition. Also very expensive, a pint of beer and a medium glass of wine was £11.60. I suppose there are some rich people in Hampton-in-Arden.
The inn is amazing, very old, very well taken care of. Typical and perfect. A nice terrasse outside allows to enjoy a quiet confortable rest with a drink. Located in a very british little village. I stayed there for 3 nights. The pub underneath is not a trouble and offers a nice opportunity to grab a bite too. The restaurant and the breakfast are amazing and can be adapted to specific diet. A huge "WOW !" to Chris and his team who does make the maximum for clients to have the perfect stay. I loved everything and strongly advise the White Lion inn to anyone going to NEC or airport and looking for a break of noise and people!
