The White Lion is a popular 260 year old traditional village pub. Popular with all ages, well behaved walkers and dogs welcome even with dirty boots and paws.
Always 5 cask conditioned beers served along with all the usual keg beers and soft drinks. Food served 12.00-20.30 Tuesday to Saturday.
Traditional Sunday lunch served 12.00/16.00.

We didn't eat, but great selection of beers and very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I turned up late, totally missed the food order but thankfully portions were large and my wife couldn’t finish her bangers and mash. Sausage - good. Mash - good. Price - good. Atmosphere - good! So nice to see pubs that haven’t been gentrified by family restaurant type breweries still alive and kicking. Beer garden is nice too and we heard there are plans to improve further. We’ll definitely come back for lunch soon.
Popped up to the last night as always loved this place and they have a new menu with some great new dishes on, loads of choice. We were served quickly, and the food quality was great. Would recommend to anyone and will be coming back very soon….. Good beers on also.. We always take our dogs.
Seem to be less and less old fashioned pubs around so it was nice to stumble across the White Lion. The pub has a nice quaint and cosy bar/dining area and the service is very pleasant. The carpet looks a little dated, but adds to the charm a bit. Good range of drinks available with several beers on draught. I ordered a bowl of chips which were more like potato wedges, but still very nice. Other meals are available and all seem very affordable. I sat in the beer garden which is in a nice setting.
Nice lunch here today. Good selection of local beers. Food arrived promptly. Generous portions for both fish and chips and also chicken tagliatelle. Enjoyed some classic rock through the music system.
