Went for sunday lunch, got booked in for 4.30. Arrived early so had a drink in bar while waiting for table. The bar staff were friendly enought and wasnt waiting too long before bein told to go around to dinning area, where we were shown to our table. From there went down hill waited what seemed ages for our order to be taken. I had the trio of meats and my partner had pork, both ordered a drink as well. Food came out in about 15-20 mins but no drinks still and we had to ask where they were.We got an appology and the drinks on the house,so not all bad. The dinner was ok but seemed warmed up especially the roasties which were really dry. The cauliflour cheese was seriously over cooked and mushy. It was presented well and looked lovely just not executed well at all. All in all we were not impressed at all and with price tags of £17 and £20 expected alot more. Dont think we would go back.

I called in by my lonesome on the Friday lunchtime between Christmas and New Year. The place was quiet whilst I was there. I started with the goats cheese with pesto on sourdough bread. It was a revelation, beautiful creamy mild cheese on beautiful bread with a pesto that wasn't too tangy and some lovely sticky and sweet balsamic drizzled over. I then went for the chicken, leek and ham pie. I wondered if I was to get a pie filling with one of those air filled things plonked on top. I needn't have worried as I received a proper pie. The pastry was very nice and the filling even better. They even just poured a tiny amount of gravy over and supplied a small jug so that I could apply as necessary. A very good touch. I am not keen on mash out as it is often an opportunity for over enthusiastic chefs to go crazy with too much butter. The chips that I received in their stead were really enjoyable, hand cut and cooked to perfection. Garden peas accompanied. Service was via a very efficient and helpful young woman. She was attentive and around but not in your face. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, all washed down with a very drinkable pint of Wainwright's. I did think the beer a tad expensive but that is drinking in very late 2023 I guess. Would I eat here again? I surely would!

Lovely lunch in a modern local pub. Staff accommodating and welcoming. Great asset to our village. Very disappointed that a large glass of wine was £10.15…the 2 glasses of wine I had I could have got 3 bottles for that. I understand times are hard and business need to make some money but £10.15 for a glass of wine is an absolute joke. Feel totally ripped off. The price of the wine has totally put me off returning which is a shame because the food is delicious. This is Church Fenton not central London!

Noticed this pub whilst driving through Church Fenton and decided it'd be the next pub I try for food. Took my mum and wife today for a Sunday dinner and we all really enjoyed it. I had the chicken breast which comes on the bone and it was delicious! The cauliflower cheese was also delicious! (and everything else!) Staff were very welcoming and attentive, they deserve credit for the good reviews given, and the chefs for their culinary skills. Without these staff there'd be no business. We just had a Sunday dinner each and one drink each, which came to £60. So £20 per head for that level of service and quality of food, plus the rural location and chilled out vibe... it's on my list of "return to" pubs. Thanks everyone at The White Horse 👌

This is really a food pub, but it has an outside seating area which is quite attractive and sheltered. We had a few drinks outside during the warm weather and then returned for Sunday lunch. An excellent lunch with a good choice of roast meats, all served with Yorkshire puds and fresh vegetables. Well worth the money, we were stuffed. Dogs welcome too, thanks
