Lovely location and enjoyable food. They were busy the day we visited, so service was impacted. I expect the service would have been better on most days, that said the service was not poor, just lacked a bit of 'welcome'.

The location is, without question, stunning. A beautiful country pub in wonderful surroundings at the foot of the white horse hills. We visited as a family with our dog after a local walk and had lunch together. Some of the food was simply amazing (try the 4hr ox cheek!), but other choices we were less enamoured with and the length of time between ordering and service was about 45mins which wasn't ideal. Overall though we enjoyed ourselves and would probably visit again. The meal averages out to around £20pp which was a bit of a stretch for us, but maybe not for others.

Have visited this place many times over the years. After walking to Uffington castle. And Wayland smithy . Fabulous food great beer and very warm and welcoming and dog friendly

Four of us went for Sunday lunch and the place was packed. Good service, not too obsequious, nice food and a good atmosphere. My only complaint was that for four of us the table was too small lengthways and I was squashed between my fellow diner and the wall - think being back at school for space! Other than that I would recommend.

The White Horse is a consistently good place to eat and drink. The location is exceptional with the Uffington White Horse nearby and the quaint village. If you're lucky you might get a table outside in front of the pub but, if not, there is plenty of accommodation inside or in the courtyard out the back. The beer is from Arkells and a decent pint. The food on offer is comprehensive pub fare and consistently good (I have been there many times). I especially enjoyed the most generous ham and egg platter I've had for some time and other members of our party enjoyed the scampi and chips equally. Portions are generous. Friendly, confident staff. Decent service.
