We came for a meal out. The steak pie with hand cut chips was great and a good sized portion too. Got the fondant for dessert which was delicious too. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub has good disabled access. Will definitely be returning.
Went here this week with my daughter I had the fish and chips which were very good and beer good too. Steak meal daughter was really good. got pool table here lost twice lol. well worth a visit here
Having a Sunday drive out ,we decided to pop in the White Horse Inn in Hutton Cranwick for a Sunday lunch. We asked at bar to be told no Sunday lunches available , but a menu was given to us to see what was on offer. There was a good choice of things to be had,we decided to go for the two course meals two for 12.25 each, and decided to opt for that. We ordered the gammon , chips and peas which was well presented ,and cooked well ,and was very nice. We had not ordered our sweet choice until we finished our main course , we then was waiting to have out plates cleared ,and was ready to order our sweet. On waiting g a short while, I went to the counter and spoke to the guy on the counter asking for just one sweet for my partner , and asked if they could kindly put mine into a container to take home, as I was full up. He kindly said no problems. I then said thanks, and as turned to go and sit down, said to the guy we have paid my partner had told me ,on ordering our lunch. The lady who was also by the till said no you still owe us for these sweets , I said pardon. my partner paid on ordering he paid £25 pounds for our food for the two course meal. She then said , no you did not pay for the sweets on ordering your food. I said ,so what you saying ,we owe you another 12, 50 when we have already paid for a two course meal.She said yes ,you are supposed to order it when you order your meal. Well I was shocked to hear this , and must admit have never come across situation like this in all my years of dinning out.Being a pensioner ,that is a lot of years. I gave them another 12.50. And we to sit down totally aghast at this. When the sweets arrived I said to the waiter we felt totally disgusted with this ,and they should make it clear on their menu, that this is there rule. My last word on this is , what was at first , we were well pleased with this lovely welcoming pub and the first course , the sweets were decidedly not tasting as sweet as they would have done ,seeing we had had to pay another 12.50. For them. So please be warned if you go there make sure you order your pudding at same time as your main. ( it's the best way) if you dont want to pay through the nose like we both did. Nothing else to be said.
We had a very nice one night stay here with family. The room was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. My daughter and her husband had a really luxurious double room. The evening meal was great. I had the bacon and cheese burger which was excellent. The scampi and the steak pie also looked great We'll definitely stay again.
Absolutely brilliant! The waitress was so lovely and brilliant with my step son. They are dog friendly and make us feel really welcome. We had the most amazing lunch today! My step son ordered the adults steak pie, he was very happy and nearly finished the lot Even better as it’s our local
