The White Horse has returned to Hertingfordbury offering casual yet elegant dining, relaxed bar and coffee lounge, function space for business or leisure and stylish, individual accommodation
Our food at The White Horse is centred around 'The Herts Larder', our purpose being to champion local food and drink in Hertfordshire.
The Herts Larder works alongside local farmers and producers across the county promoting their unique talents and artisan produce. From ice-cream to watercress; beef to venison; cheese to rapeseed oil; coffee to honey; charcuterie to artisan bread; craft beer to vodka; wine to cider – the list goes on.
After a delicious meal in our restaurant or private dining rooms, amble upstairs to one of our cosy bedrooms and put off tomorrow for a little longer. As with our bar and restaurant areas, we have drawn upon current trends to create our interiors and we have been experimental, using a tropical-meets-Africana theme at large. Taking centre stage is the use of Cole & Son's outstanding new range of exciting wallpapers, The Ardmore Collection. In this collection, the company joined forces with South African-based Ardmore Ceramic Art to produce 14 stunningly vibrant and pictorial wallpapers, all heavily influenced by African tradition and culture. These bold and eye-catching patterns tell stories through the language of craftsmanship and have created one of the most exciting new collections of wallpaper designs for years.
All our bedrooms enjoy en suite private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries.
We only accept guide dogs in our public rooms and accommodation.

Food was burnt and service was slow. If we have been having a bottomless brunch we would have got better service. Just bad.
A superb country pub with some accommodation (not tried but I'm sure they're lovely). We visited here last weekend for lunch and the food was superb. It was quite busy but we managed to find a free table. Cosy, welcoming and great value for money.
Came her for a work Xmas lunch. Food was great, especially the Jacobs ladder and the turkey. Cosy, clean and well staffed. Desperately needs public wifi though. Don't come here if you need a phone signal!🤳🏼
Wife and I enjoyed a very nice anniversary meal here. Food was excellent as was the service. Nice atmosphere and decor. Highly recommended.
Steaks we're perfect. Stroganoff was dry and unbeatable. Took it home for our friend's dog. Nothing taken off our bill even though 2 meals uneatable
