Nice and clean rooms, a bit too noisy at night. The restaurant is busy, so if you want to dine in you must book.
Very clean. Great if you just want a clean bed, comfy bed for the night. Not the warmest room as it is in an old property with sash windows and a convector heater. Quite quiet apart from the ticking radiator that comes on at 5am. Lovely bar downstairs with a very basic continental breakfast. They have a great choice of gins and mixers. Lovely helpful staff, friendly and welcoming.
I wrote a review last year on the white Hart in Wiveliscombe And I have now deleted it as there are new owners And I must say the change is a complete 360 degree In as far as customer service and friendly staff go We went in with friends and we had a lovely evening good atmosphere and service the update is very good It feels more welcoming and friendly we be going back for sure Thanks guys you have certainly made a huge difference
Under the new management, this pub is really lovely. The menu is fantastic- spoiled for choice. The food was delicious. The service was exceptional. Will be returning for sure.
I am sure this hotel/restaurant will rate more than 3 stars if I were to visit at a later date. The hotel was under very new ownership when I arrived. The welcome left much to be desired. Staff seemed more interested in setting up for a soon to happen wake than assisting me. On getting to my room with very heavy bags up very steep stairs I was disappointed to find the decor reminiscent of the 1970's..On going back downstairs for a drink I found the bar not open. Luckily my brother who had stayed here previously had recommended the pub across the road. Over the next couple days I found the bar either not open or the pipes were being cleaned. On waking the first morning I wanted a cuppa only to find no milk provided with the complimentary tea/coffee. The bed was fantastic, the bathroom though dated had plenty hot water. Once I managed to make contact with the staff they were helpful. I would stay again in the future as the White Hart is located in the heart of the lovely village of Wiveliscombe close to Taunton. Hopefully next time the new owners will of had chance to modernise.
