About us

A warm welcome from The White Hart!

Situated at the bottom of Cheddar Gorge, the White Hart nestles in The Bays, a quiet street just off the main road through the Gorge, a popular tourist attraction all year round.

Ideally suited for both local custom and a much appreciated "watering hole" for visitors, especially during summertime when the extensive beer garden and play area provides an excellent setting to enjoy a meal and drinks while exploring the village.

The menu caters for a wide variety of tastes, offering "Harty" home-cooked food at very reasonable prices. Vegetarian dishes are also available, as are "lighter" options for those with a not so "Harty" an appetite.

The bar is stocked with a good range of Local Ales, Draught Lager, Stout and Ciders along with a good selection of fine wines available by the glass or bottle.

Come and visit us next time you're in Cheddar!.

Lovely proper locals pub with great character, exposed stone work with real fire. Good selection of food, local ales and ciders. Staff are always professional and engaging. Large garden with kids play area. Well worth a stop for food or a drink. The only cons are during peak tourist season it can get very busy.

Have been travelling to Cheddar for many years for weekends away. And it is the White Hart that is the biggest draw. We absolutely love this pub, there is always a lovely friendly atmosphere and vibe in there, friendly locals and great beer. Made our last visit on Halloween weekend to enjoy the wonderful spooky decor. Wonderful..

Had a great meal here. Ham home cooked and thick with eggs, chips, peas and Lasagna garlic bread salad. Friendly staff, cute pub. Could be a little warmer as it was a chilly day in the pub. Lovely location.

Very nice pub. The locals add character to the pub. Good atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Stilton and broccoli soup was very tasty but a little too thick. Prefer a runnier consistency. Went down well. Definitely worth a visit for beer and food.

Nice pub just off the main road through Cheddar. Indoor, outdoor seating and a beer garden around the corner. The special thatchers they have on tap is 👌
