Went to the Colonnades bar and was served by Alfie who was fantastic. Had dinner at Antlers and the food was delicious and wait staff were very attentive. Overall a wonderful experience
Come to the restaurant with my boyfriend to “celebrate” our 5 and a half year anniversary. We weren’t really celebrating, he just happened to me visiting me that week and booked a table for that night so mentioned it to the staff as a joke. Was welcomed politely and our coats were taken, it was lovely and quiet at 7.30. Did have to wait a little while to be served but we weren’t in a rush so enjoyed the time together. Food and drinks were excellent and afterwards was invited to the bar area to listen to some live music. When sat in the bar, the lady who served us handed a free plate of brownies and chocolate writing that said “happy anniversary” which was so thoughtful and not expected at all! Staff were so lovely and accommodating. Couldn’t recommend enough! Thank you :)
We got married at the White Hart this weekend, and where do we start! The wedding was perfect start to finish. It ran smoothly and we had the most amazing time celebrating. If anyone is considering holding their wedding here I can't recommend it enough. Timings ran perfectly, the food was served quickly and smoothly by a great team and it was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. We had tones of compliments on the food from some very picky eater friends too! We had been looking forward to the meal since the tasting and it did NOT disappoint in any way. Room service from the lunch and dinner menus and the cooked breakfast's were also incredible quality and flavour. We stayed for 3 days to make the most of the wedding weekend and are so glad we did. Aside from the wedding of our dreams, the whole weekend was just amazing. Yes, the refurbishment is brilliant and the bedroom was beautifully decorated, the bar and ceremony room look great, but the reason our stay was SO AMAZING was the ENTIRE staff team. We have stayed in a lot of wonderful hotels and both agree that we have never had anything like the level of service that the staff at the White Hart provided. We will recommend it to anyone and everyone and can't wait to come and stay again. They are completely professional but somehow bring the feel of a family run hotel, where everyone is really approachable and friendly and you feel you have known them for ages. The refurbishment is ongoing at the moment and there are a few teething problems, the TVs didn't work for live TV and the hotel offered a discount on our rooms for this (not that we wanted to watch much TV) and a couple of the bedrooms are awaiting their refurb, but our guests were happy and complimented the way the staff worked to overcome any issues. The night before the wedding, I became aware of a little issue with the kitchen and the food and beverage manager, Claire H, was at our door before my bridesmaid had chance to put her slippers on to go ask what was happening. Claire reassured us everything was in hand and there was a plan B and also kept me up to date an hour later when the issue was resolved, but I needn't have worried because on the wedding day the meal was beyond perfect! On the wedding day, one of our suppliers has also delivered the wrong colour lighting for the room, I mentioned it to Claire H and 45 minutes later when we went in for the meal, she had sorted it out and had the suppliers come and resolve it. Claire H and Claire "agent" Williams on reception were incredible with keeping things running smoothly, great communication and ran the day like a special ops mission, all with a smile and making us laugh non stop. Kevin on concierge was on hand to help guests and even supported my elderly uncle with his mobility around the hotel. Our guests kept stopping him for a chat, he was so lovely! Jonathan (who we assumed was one of the managers but not sure!) was also on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and was an incredible help through the whole weekend, and Alana who must have brought 10 trays of drinks up and down to the room with a smile, were just some of the amazing team who made the whole weekend so special. The new refurbishment is beautiful and totally changes the feel of the hotel but somehow, the new owners have found themselves with the absolute best of the best in their staff team and we will never stop shouting about it! Thank you to every person who worked a shift this weekend (29th to 31st December), we appreciate everything you have done to make our wedding weekend so so special! A number of our guests stayed for 2 or 3 nights and have commented to us how lovely and helpful the concierge, reception and bar staff were.
I had a table for four booked at the White Hart Antlers Restaurant for 19:30. As we arrived, I did expect a warm welcome; however, it was cold unfriendly welcome of 'Have you booked', not a 'good evening' or 'how are you', or even 'are you dining with us this evening? From here, it really started to go downhill. It seemed to take a long time to get the drinks order in, but we did receive some bread with a selection of butters but were not told about the flavours of the butter or type of bread. Just as we ordered our drinks, we were told that they had an issue in the kitchen and they would not be able to take our food orders for another hour and a half. Some complimentary drinks were given, which was appreciated. Finally, as we did receive our meals, the portion sizes were small and underwhelming in taste. The staff seems to have had little training, and I had to stop the waiter from just pouring the wine without it being tasted first. Another example, the restaurant has had the Antler logo printed on their plates, which look great; however, make sure the staff plate and place the plates with the logo at the top of the plate, or what is the point? We should not have, but we did leave a tip for the waiter, even that was a painful process. We were going to stay for a drink in the restaurant bar, but the staff told us, 'We are best to go into the hotel bar because they would be slow'. So, we did, and it was a struggle to get a drink with the table service. We sat down around 10:00, finally ordered a drinks after searching for staff to take out order, they were delivered at 10:35 which gave us 10 minutes to consume before getting our taxi home. Obviously, the new owner has spent a lot on the interior, but the staff needs a lot more training to keep this place in business.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. Round the corner from the cathedral and castle. The room we had was spacious however, we were the floor below the refurbishments that is currently going on in the building which got quite noisy and woke us up in the morning. Also, it would be ideal if more information was in the room/told upon check in (eg WiFi, Room Service Menu and general hotel information such as menus for the restaurant/bars that are in the hotel). The staff were friendly and helpful with any queries. In addition to this, the breakfast was great and the newly refurbished restaurant was well decorated and felt contemporary. Definitely not a bad experience, has potential to be a really great hotel and will hopefully revisit once fully refurbished.

The Lion and Snake is one of the oldest pubs in Lincoln, just ask any one of the the three ghosts that reside here! Our beer garden is the biggest in the Bailgate and has amazing views of the cathedral. It is popular with visitors and locals alike.
