Our outdoor seating area is an all day sun trap!

We cater for travellers who want a quick pint and a bite to eat whilst waiting for the bus, and our 'regulars' who come to enjoy home cooked food and well kept Ales, Lagers & Ciders, in a warm friendly atmosphere.

You can call & pre order lunch for city workers with short lunch brakes.

We also offer a selection of Wines and Spirits along with soft drinks.

Food is served daily and is prepared on the premises.

We show all sporting events on Sky Sports & BT Sports on 2 TV's.

Nice local pub, quite quiet as we visited late one evening between Christmas and New Year but constantly people in and out. Always looks busy so will definitely visit again

i cannot comment on the food because we didnt have any but the landlord and landlady were hospitable definitely worth a visit if your that way

The owner/landlord/whatever told our large group to "buy a drink or [f] off" calling us all freeloaders despite having arrived 2 minutes beforehand and one person having bought a drink and the majority of us planning to buy a drink anyway while we waited for our bus. There was no polite interaction at all, he just immediately started being on the offensive and told us all to leave with some colourful language thrown in, and so we all left on the spot without buying any of the drinks we went in there to buy. Most of the other critical reviews about this pub seem to be in roughly the same vein so I doubt anything constructive will happen as a result of this review but the only thing I can say is don't go to this pub if you want any kind of good atmosphere, I don't think I could recommend a place less. He made us all feel unsafe and uncomfortable despite being there for less than 5 minutes. I imagine this is a fairly common occurrence as his mates and the staff just sat there either doing nothing or agreeing while he spoke. Go to the Bay Horse instead if you value your experience at a pub.

Found myself here with four hours to kill due to the rail strikes and a long wait til the next available bus. Staff were pleasant and helpful, had some enjoyable random chat with locals/ regulars. Had a few pints of a locally brewed pale ale that was in good condition and reasonably priced for the location. Saying that, if I wasn't absolutely shattered from a long journey and carrying heavy bags I'd probably have headed up the road into Stokes Croft and found somewhere a bit more vibey.
