A beautiful 16th century country pub, full of character, nestling between two farms in the tiny hamlet of Fickleshole. Set in the heart of the North Downs countryside, we are located just five minutes from Biggin Hill Airport and seven miles from central
The White Bear was once several little cottages and a small pub on the end of a terrace. It comes complete with not one but two resident ghosts. Today, our guests visit The White Bear for the great food, the friendly staff, good service and an excellent selection of wines.
There is never a bad time to drop by and pay us a visit, come in the winter and sit by a roaring log fire with a welcoming glass of mulled wine before enjoying an evening meal at a candlelit table. In the Summer, relax in the large garden with a jug of Pimms and simply enjoy the sunshine.
We look forward to seeing you.

Relatively recently refurbished pub, my wife and I visited recently. Nice food at reasonable prices (£15-20 for main course), a good drinks selection, and the staff were lovely. A shame they seem to have replaced the open fires with wood burners, but overall very good.
Very impressed and plan to return Went for Sunday lunch - roasts, dessert and kids food were all high quality and good - although they were very busy service was good Good job on the renovation A little more gravy for the large Yorkshire pudding and one more piece of potato (only 3) would have got 5 stars for the food
Second visit since reopening in December 2022. We love it, it's a great transformation and looks fabulous. Food is really good BUT....the duck pie was very disappointing, it had pearl barley in it which made it very filling and the duck was sparse. We did tell the server so hopefully she has passed onto the chef.
Lovely food, beer and atmosphere in this newly refurbished pub. All the staff were very nice but it took quite a long time to be served, order and have plates collected. It won't stop us going again at some point. Great that they have circular walks from the pub on the app, we really enjoyed that after lunch.
Wow this pub has an amazing transformation. The food was amazing and just as good as any top restaurant. The service was just as good as the food. Will be back next week
