Dance floor 2 to 3 inch higher than rest of floor so big trip hazzad asked for a buffet for 25 people so expect only to be changed for 25 people if only 10 came would have still paid for the 25 .food was taken away with out notice and with an hour with no dessert and for 15 pound a head would have expected something and at the end charged for at least 10 more people plus charged 46 pound for tea and coffee that only a handful of people had but paid 500 on the day and less than 4 days aft putting my dad to rest the owner was ringing me for the 66 pound outstanding and was rude on the phone not a place I would use again
Absolutely disgusted with the service we got! My Grandma wanted my Grandads wake here as she attends the Weston rooms quite regularly. She was quoted £15 per head which is bloody steep anyway and quite a con to start with! She asked for 25 people and when we got there my Dad got told to wait till the wake had finished before paying. There was quite a few hundred pound put behind the bar plus my grandma was charged £25 for teas and coffees which was hardly used. All the food got taken away within an hour of being there and when dad went to pay at the end instead of the £400 we expected to pay we were charged £566 because they’d decided that there was too many people there so charged us for the use of the room as well! It’s a Monday afternoon they would have been shut otherwise so instead of looking after a regular customer they saw this as an opportunity to CON a grief stricken old lady! Absolutely appalling behaviour! For £566 I’d at least expected to be able to take the buffet home with us or at least have it left out for the whole service! The moment it was taken away it felt like we were no longer welcome! The chef stood behind the bar with the face on the whole time! 100% will not be spending another penny in that sorry excuse for a venue!
Health and safety hazard in the main function room. On the carpet area which meets the wooden floor there is a ramp where unfortunately a lady tripped over it and fell down in the area. A few more more people tripped but managed to get their balance.No signs are posted to reflect this and this needs to be rectified immediately.
Attended a family party venue was a good size and the food and service was excellent only down side was the step on too the dance floor with the lights down low it's hard to see.
I had my 70th birthday party here on the 31st January.Julian and Elaine did everything to make sure the night was very very special nothing was too much trouble, the venue was warm welcoming, and the buffet superb, lovely hot and cold food, everyone rang me afterwards and commented on this. thank you so much.I will certainly recomend the Weston Rooms.
