Good grief, went in about 4pm with a woman leaving the pub showing somebody her bottom and screaming (laughing) when we got in there was a group of woman screaming and laughing. I'm not against people having a laugh but when you have have a screach, shrill laught maybe calm it down. The tables were being cleared slowly but no one came out to wipe any of them down while I was there. Ours was filthy which is the reason we didn't eat there. I assumed this was because the 3 chimneys was closed. I realise the pub has no control of who is in and leaving the pub but the cleanliness needs looking at. Bit disappointed as we were looking forward our visit.
My friends and I (all pensioners) came for Xmas lunch, table set nice with crackers and festive napkins and oh my goodness the food was outstanding from starters to succulent turkey and dessert, the sticky toffee pudding that I had was the lightest, tastiest pudding I've ever eaten and all this for £16.99 per head! But not only that, the pub was very very busy, with other people having food from the main menu, but service was still impeccable, the staff ran around making sure everyone was taken care of. I'd also like to say, I don't know how the chef coped, but they did, so thank you for a fantastic afternoon.
Run out of baguettes, which I understand however, they must have dropped half the chicken on the way over to the table! It didn't even cover half the sandwich. Also run out of a few beers and got my drink order wrong.
Called in here for the first time in a while on 20/10/2023 mid afternoon for a drink. Had a pint of San Miguel that was excellent! Used to come in here years back when it was The Gate, can't speak for what it's like on an evening but nice relaxed atmosphere through the afternoon with a few people in as well.
Visited on bank holiday, close to food finishing time. Little quieter than it's usual busy atmosphere but made absolutely little difference to service and quality. Both myself and partner really enjoyed our food. Ordered 2 starters and 2 burgers that was customised to our liking. Kitchen note must of been arm's length when sent through!! Chef (Raz) didn't let us down and cooked it spot on. 100% The best and only Lgbt Friendly Food Venue in Wakefield. Well done to Michael and his team for maintaining a top knotch place to eat and drink the last couple of year's.
