It was my birthday yesterday. Me and some of my family. Group of 10 and then 4 more joined us later for drinks all visit you for a meal. The food we had was lovely and very tasty but there was no selection of certain foods like the mixed grill and steak. They had run out. Apart from that reasonable prices and great service.
Stopped by for lunch on New Year’s Day. Didn’t have a booking but was a table available which was good. Had small carvery. The service was good, friendly staff and calm considering was quite busy. The carvery was good although the beef was a little dry and the roast potatoes weren’t crispy. Still for £10 pp was reasonable and satisfying. The pub has a nice homely feel, comfortable seating and atmosphere. There is a nice outdoor seating area that would be good in better weather.
We have just been to the Swan and Cygnet restaurant tonight for my mums 86th birthday meal. We were a VERY large group (Around 30). I would like to say that your staff, who served us have been nothing short of excellent....it can't be easy dealing with such a big group and we have been let down by other venues with poor service and food in the past (We do this every year). The guys who dealt with us have been attentive, polite and provided excellent service. Also the food was top notch. My son ordered a Sirloin Steak Medium Rare and it was cooked to absolute perfection. I didn't hear any complaints from my party and that's some achievement considering the size of the group. All in all, an excellent experience for which we are very grateful. Thank you.
very disappointed.... booked a table for 16 on Saturday night for a works Christmas meal.. service shocking... table not set out with knives/forks or serviettes, and just plonked in middle of table when they did arrive .. starter's missing items as described on menu..... waited ages for mains to come... disappointed that the mixed grill was very dry... the pub was about 1/3rd full so not i would call busy to excuse the delays.... and what pub runs out of Guinness apart from St Patrick's day??? definitely won't be booking here again........
Came here for our Sunday lunch. I rang ahead and booked as we were taking our dog with us. We were shown to our table and a dish of water was available for our dog, which was nice. We had a carvery, mixed grill and a chicken burger. All our food was nice. The mixed grill could have had bigger pieces of meat as these were quite small for the price. We enjoyed. We would eat here again.
