I went here in a group of 5. The food was sensational. I had the Swordfish starter which was absolutely beautiful! Cooked to perfection. I continued with fish to the main course and enjoyed a lovely pub classic of fish and chunky chips, what a delight that was! I adored the chips. The staff at the bistro provided exceptional service, displaying genuine warmth and attentiveness throughout our visit. Their friendly demeanor and prompt assistance added a delightful touch to the overall dining experience The bistro had a charming atmosphere, with soft ambient lighting and cozy decor that invited a sense of warmth. The menu, overall is slightly on the pricey side, however as they offer a set menu on certain nights we were able to take full advantage of this. Having 2 beautifully cooked courses for £17.95. Which in my eyes, was an absolute bargain for the quality of the food and service. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the bistro for its outstanding combination of a charming atmosphere, impeccable service, and, above all, the exceptional cuisine.

What a Christmas dinner! First year in a long time we decided to treat ourselves to a Christmas day off. Five of us headed to The Carpenter's Arms aka Bar 42 and settled into some cocktails while we waited for our table. Half an hour later we headed upstairs and sat down to a beautifully laid table with tasty little appetizers. Then along came the soup and starters brought to us by super friendly and polite staff. By this point we were wondering if it could get any better. A small wait and all five plates turned up together piping hot, which in itself was a testament to the service. The food was second to none, out of place in a tiny little town, we were wondering how high end restaurant food ended up on our plates. It tasted so much better than it looked and we were all struggling to finish it, but we tried. Finally an amazing dessert turned up and we had to be rolled out of the door we were that full. The staff throughout we're beyond professional, polite, friendly and attentive. Will our waiter kept the drinks coming, recommended some good cocktails and made sure we wanted nothing. Next year, definitely more of the same please! We can't wait to go back.

Drinks, service and most importantly food are exceptional. Beers and ales on draft are fantastic, cocktail menu is fleshed out and caters to anyone taking a seat Food rivals that of the top places in Leeds, apart from prices which are very reasonable. Presentation and considered components on the plate really show how much they care about what goes into their menu, strongly recommended this establishment as its leagues above anywhere else in the local area of Ossett.

Very lovely staff who provided quick and friendly service. The food was also very tasty however I'd recommend that you order from the main menu rather than the set one as although it's cheaper, the portions aren't as generous. My friend ordered chicken skewers and chunky chips which she Very much enjoyed so I don't doubt the quality of the food. Very quirky and creative decor of the place and the atmosphere was very pleasant too. Thank you to the carpenters arms we will be back 😁

Was okay, portion sizes were quite varied. Amount of fries which came with the burger was somewhat on the smaller side, and as for the price, I think I've had a similar burger at a Greene King for half the price, more fries would probably make up for the price. Service was brilliant, atmosphere was fine, was sat near the kitchen which was nice to see but was sometimes quite loud. Overall okay and would go again if it was cheaper maybe.
